Online stores on your own domain

Your store, served in 0.2ms

Products, a cart and Stripe checkout on a domain you own. Pages are answered in under 0.2 ms at the server, with no JavaScript at all.

Free to start. We’ll email you a sign-in link; there’s no password. By signing in you agree to the Terms and Acceptable Use Policy.

Fig. 1 This rule is one millisecond long. The mark is 0.2 ms: 99 in 100 cached store pages are answered faster, measured at the server.

Proof

Measured, then drawn to scale.

One pixel per unit. Nothing rounded up for effect.

  1. 100,000

pages a second, on two CPU cores

  2. 14KB

or less for a store page, compressed

Fig. 3 112 × 128 px: one pixel for every byte. Small enough to arrive in the first round trip.

  3. 0KB

Every store’s catalog is held in memory, on servers in several regions, so the nearest one answers.

How it works

Three steps, then you’re selling.

  1. Describe your shop

Say what you sell in a sentence or two. Claude drafts the store’s name, address, look and About page, and nothing exists until you’ve checked it.

Fig. 5 Dashed is drafted. Solid is yours.
  2. Bring your products

Drop in photos, a PDF price list, a spreadsheet or a list you paste. Claude drafts each product, and helps you price it; you keep what you like.

  3. Connect Stripe, get paid

Payments go to your own Stripe account. Orders show up in the builder and in Stripe.

Themes

Four themes. Your colour.

Pick one, set an accent colour, and your store is at yourname.featherstall.shop, or on your own domain with automatic HTTPS.

Pricing

Free to start. 2% per sale.

No monthly fee and no plans, and never more than $29 of fees in a month: past that, the month’s sales carry no Featherstall fee. Stripe’s standard processing fees apply, paid by you on your own Stripe account.

Questions

Asked, answered.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Every store starts at yourname.featherstall.shop. Add your own domain in the builder, set the DNS records it shows you, and HTTPS is set up automatically.

What does it cost?

Nothing to start. We take 2% of each sale; with tax at checkout on, of the sale before tax. In a calendar month that never comes to more than $29 (or about that in your currency: €29, £25, CA$39, A$45), so a busy month costs no more than a plan elsewhere. Stripe’s standard processing fees also apply; you pay those on your own Stripe account. There is no monthly fee and there are no plans.

Is there a referral reward?

Yes. The “Powered by Featherstall” link at the foot of every store carries the store’s code. A new store that joins through it sells its first $1,000 without Featherstall’s fee (or about that in its currency), and once it has paid orders from three buyers, so does the store whose link it was.

What can I sell?

Things you can ship, and anything else Stripe lets you sell. Set where you ship, with a rate for each group of countries, and checkout collects the address.

What does Claude write?

Titles, descriptions, alt text, pages and CSS, from what you give it: a photo, a sentence, a few facts. Drafts arrive in the normal form with a dashed outline, and nothing is published until you press Save. 50 drafts a day.

Why Stripe?

Checkout runs on Stripe, and the money goes to your own Stripe account. Every order shows up both in the builder and in your Stripe dashboard.

Is it really that fast?

At the server, a cached page is answered in about 0.05 ms at the median and under 0.2 ms for 99 in 100 requests. Two CPU cores serve about 100,000 pages a second. Store pages are 14 KB or less, compressed, with no JavaScript. Your visitors’ network still takes the time it takes; we just don’t add to it.
